F-84 G Thunder Jet
Single-seat Fighter-Bomber capable of deploying nuclear weapons, equipped with Autopilot
In December 1955( Dey 1334 ) 14 pilots from P-47 Thunder Bolt squadron were sent to Fursten Feldbrook (USAF base in Germany ) to become “Jet Pilots.”
After completion of “Jet Pilot Training,” 9 of them returned to Iran (Including General Khatami, Commander of the Air Force), and five pilots remained in Germany to become “Jet Instructor Pilots”.
These five were :

By the time these 5 became “Jet Instructor Pilots” and returned to Iran, the Imperial Iranian Air Force had received its first (8 total) Jet Trainer T-33. (April 29,1956 = 9 Ordibehesht 1335)
These 5 Jet Instructors started to teach other pilots to fly Jets; shortly after (May 15, 1957 = 25 Ordibehesht 1336 ), the Imperial Iranian Air Force received its first “Jet Fighters” F-84 G ( Total of 34 ).
2 Squadron of F-84s were formed, both in Tehran, Mehrabad (1st Tactical Fighter Base).
These squadrons were 11th. Tactical Fighter Sq. and 12th. Tactical Fighter Sq.
The First Imperial Iranian Air Force Demonstration Team called “ Golden Crown “ also formed with F-84-G with the leadership of Maj. Nader Jahanbani.
The 2nd Tactical Fighter Base ” Vahdati” near Dezful was also operational by two Squadron of F-84s in 1959 (5 Azar 1338 ) and the first Base Commander was General Naeimi Rad.
